Atlanta 2011 Walk For Lupus

11 Feb

At the age of 50 my grandmother was diagnosed with Lupus. In those days Lupus was a fairly unknown disease where most of the medication was experimental, and why she went undiagnosed for so long. But this story is not of a sad one, she was strong and still lived a full life, she lived with Lupus until the age of 74! What a blessing! Why I walk for Lupus: Annie Barrett

My story consists out of love for a woman. A mother, and my Grandma Annie was diagnosed with Lupus in the late 80’s. What is Lupus? It is a chronic inflammatory disease that can affect various parts of the body, especially the skin, joints, blood, and kidneys. Lupus at that time was not (and still to this day) isn’t a widely known disease, therefore much of her medication was experimental. She now lives on through me, and therefore it is my responsibility to support those living with this disease, and do my part. Join me and my family at Piedmont Park on April 30,2011 or make a donation today!

Lauren Conrad

Pictured here doing good in her hood of L.A, Lauren Conrad, also known as L.C. from the reality tv series “The Real O.C.” and “The Hills” still makes time to give back. Since the two shows have ended Lauren has been doing better than most; she hasn’t filed for bankruptcy (Spencer & Heidi), she has a successful clothing line (unlike Whitney Port),  and a best selling book,  there’s even talk of a new reality series. Until then L.C. is hob nobbing with the best of them, Mickey and Minnie for the Starlight Children’s Foundation Disney On Ice benefit.
